[There may be something to be said for both their dedication that they're still friends, even now. At first, she wasn't sure quite how they'd manage it, but... she'd been more than willing to try. He was too important to her for her not to. Still, it stung, remembering how she'd failed him, and unfortunately that did tend to happen when they were around each other. That said, she's always happy, truly, to see him. She's got that to look forward to at the moment, at least, as she waits.]

[She'd practically be grinning if she were the type to grin. Hopefully he won't mind if she. Maybe leans against him a little as they walk.]

[That makes him glance at her before pulling her closer. Better?]

[Better. She looks over at him to offer a shy little laugh, smile still bright.]

[Man, she likes him.]

i kept thinking maybe you wouldn't agree after everything that's happened. Not sure if it was obvious but I was kind of in a mess for a while after it.

[She falters, smile growing wry.]

You... definitely seemed different. To be honest, I... thought maybe it was just me. [Making him uncomfortable when they were around each other, you know. She looks apologetic, even now.] But-- I can't imagine ever-- [... Oh. She should probably be embarrassed to admit this, shouldn't she. Her face lowers a little, cheeks darkening.] ... not wanting to be with you.

[He breaks out a laugh at that. You know, that silly, goofy laugh he has as he gives her hand a squeeze.]

Naw, it was me. I was definitely acting nutty.

[Such a sweetie. That gets her smile bright again, and she can't help laughing along with him, albeit more quietly.]

I can't exactly have helped. I... hope it wasn't too hard on you.

[Didn't do anything too silly, Ven?]

Well, I was barely hanging on there.

[Doot de doo leading up the stairs back to the train.]

[-- She blinks over at him.]

[Please, like it would be that awful for him ~~regardless of whether or not it was for her~~.]

[She hesitates, then shakes her head.]

[Tilts his head.]

[She looks at him, then-- looks away.]

[And since when has she ever made that much difference-- That's not really an answer, Naminé.]

[She looks back up at him, a little uncertain and lips missing her smile.]

[It's hard not to feel both terrible and touched all at the same time.]

I really missed you.

[... She lets out a breath.]

I really missed you too.

[She'll just. Hold onto him a little more tightly.]

[The train arrives and he drops her hand to wrap an arm around her instead.]

[She leans into his hold, and for a second all she wants to do is maybe press her face into his shoulder and perhaps shed a few tears, but she very firmly refrains and instead just stays tucked against him until they're on the train.]

You okay?

[He guides her to sit down, keeping an arm around her.]

Yes. Yes, I'm okay.

[She sits next to him, one hand moving up to press over the one holding her close, and then she just-- turns her face against his shoulder. She doesn't cry, but she does close her eyes.]

I just-- I'm... so happy.

[So happy she doesn't even know what to do with herself or all the leftover feelings from missing him, welp.]

[gdsjhgfds he keeps holding her, keeping that arm securely around her.]

[Good boy, Ven. She's kind of got to deal with the feelings on her own, probably.]
